Project Spotlights
The Elmo community was ready for a new Pow Wow facility to support their cultural gatherings and events. Sapphire was brought on to prepare the site from the ground up. Our team completed site grading to subgrade, excavated and backfilled pier footings, and imported and placed sub-base and base materials to support future paving. We also installed rain leaders and drywells to manage stormwater runoff effectively and subcontracted final paving operations to ensure a clean, accessible finish.
Project Challenges:
As with many early-season projects in Montana, the biggest hurdle was the unpredictable weather. The team worked through a mix of sunny dry spells, rain-soaked days, and even frozen, snowy mornings. While this led to occasional delays, our crews adjusted schedules and workflows to stay efficient and productive.
Final Touches
Despite the variable conditions, the project was completed on time. Final grading was smoothed and compacted, storm systems tested and verified, and all excavation areas were stabilized and cleaned up. The site was turned over in excellent condition, ready for community use and celebration.
